- A more efficient management of a reservoir (for both hydropower or water supply) can be achieved by using a site specific streamflow forecast system which provides a more accurate knowledge of the expected inflow to the reservoir.
- Site specific or GIS based weather information systems allow qualitative assessments of the impact of current or forecasted weather on a hydrologic system.
